Project Officer

Summary

The Project Officer will assist Project Team Lead. This challenging position involves day-to-day coordination of project activities and interacting with the project partners. The Project Officer’s key responsibilities will typically involve preparing and maintaining project documentation, such as plans. correspondence, and reports; preparing the list of activities/ tasks; maintaining project schedules; communicating the project’s progress to the senior management; and assisting project management in carrying out research, analysis, and preparation of reports to successfully accomplish project scope and deliverables.

Job Responsibilities:
The Project Officer is expected to perform the following activities/ duties:

  • Assisting and supporting the Project Management team in carrying out data gathering/
  • compilation, research, analysis, and preparation of project deliverables.
  • Preparing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule in MS Project.
  • Preparing project progress updates for the senior management, project partners, and client.
  • Keeping track of and communicating project issues and status to the project management team.
  • Organizing and attending project meetings with project partners. Also, organizing project team
  • meetings and recording minutes.
  • Liaising with project partners for smooth execution of the project scope and deliverables.
  • Delegating tasks to team members under the supervision of the Project Officer.
  • Any other task assigned by the Project Team Lead or CEO.
  • Academic Qualification:
  • MS (Project Management), MPM, or MBA with major subject as Project Management or Marketing.
  • Experience
  • Project Officer – At least 3 years experience of working in private and/ or public sector organizations in a
  • position dealing with project execution, report writing, client interaction.
  • Females will be given preference for this position.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Excellent technical writing skills in the preparation of reports and documents in English.
  • Hands-on in operating MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint
  • Good understanding of project management concepts, methodologies, and terminology
  • The high energy level and ability to deliver work under time-constrained situations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills.
